About Diversion Compliance Group (DCG)
Diversion Compliance Group (DCG) is a DEA compliance consulting and training company built to help DEA registrants confidently manage controlled substances under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and 21 CFR requirements.
We work with registrants across Schedules II–V who want more than generic advice—they want clear expectations, practical solutions, and documentation that holds up during inspections.
Whether you’re tightening an existing program or building one from the ground up, DCG helps you move from “we think we’re compliant” to “we can prove we’re compliant.”

How DCG Works
Most compliance breakdowns don’t happen because people don’t care—they happen because expectations aren’t clear, systems aren’t consistent, and documentation doesn’t match real practice.
DCG focuses on:
- Simple, repeatable processes
- Training that sticks—even with turnover
- Documentation that demonstrates good-faith compliance
- Practical implementation that works under real-world conditions
Founder
John — Founder, Diversion Compliance Group
DCG was founded by John, a former DEA Diversion Investigator and Group Supervisor with more than fifteen years of federal experience enforcing the Controlled Substances Act.
During his DEA career, John:
- Investigated and supervised administrative, civil, and criminal cases involving controlled substances
- Conducted inspections and audits of practitioners, pharmacies, narcotic treatment programs, distributors, manufacturers, and veterinary practices
- Trained new Diversion Investigators and provided educational outreach to registrants on CSA and 21 CFR requirements
- Worked closely with Assistant U.S. Attorneys, state boards, and local law enforcement
- Testified in administrative and judicial proceedings relating to controlled substance compliance
After leaving federal service, John founded Diversion Compliance Group to help DEA registrants—including healthcare professionals and other regulated entities—understand and comply with DEA requirements.
DCG’s tools, trainings, and consulting are built from two things: the regulatory framework and the practical realities observed in the field—what actually causes problems, what inspectors focus on, and what strong compliance looks like in day-to-day operations.
Our Mission
To help DEA registrants run controlled substance programs that are practical for staff and defensible during review—through clear guidance, strong documentation, and effective training.
